The Ontario Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Ontario and Canadian governments, has launched the COVID-19 Rapid Screening Initiative. Through this initiative, participating chambers of commerce and boards of trade are rolling out free rapid tests for small- and medium-sized businesses in communities across the province.
Businesses (including non-chamber members) with 150 employees or less are welcome to participate in this program. The goal of the program is to identify asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the workplace that might otherwise be missed, helping to curb the spread in the workplace, at home and around the community.
The King Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Newmarket Chamber and The Aurora Chamber to help get Rapid Tests out to businesses in King Township. Please visit their websites for more information on where and how to pick up your tests.
Temporary delays in accessing free rapid antigen tests
The province is experiencing a high demand for rapid antigen tests. We appreciate your patience as there may be temporary delays in accessing free rapid antigen tests. While a very limited number of Chambers and Boards of Trade across the province may still have some stock on hand, the majority have depleted their stocks in an effort to keep their communities safe.
Small business access to tests at select pharmacy locations:
The Government of Canada is working in collaboration with pharmacies at select locations in Ontario to make test kits available. These locations may also be experiencing temporary depleted availability of tests. For more information, click here. Note: A training and handling fee of $14.00 per box may be applied by the pharmacy.
